I'd like to thank the GJ and Wood Magazine for the opportunity. Carl was great to work with and I still can't imagine how I made the cover with the other garages showcased in the magazine.

It was an excellent magazine, and still reading it. It was how I was able to find this wonderful site and became a member a few days ago and overwhelmed with the vast amount of good information. I have already spent hours reading on here but have only been through a few threads as the first one I started was BB767's 1930's shop resto thread, excellent read, and would make an issue all in it's self!!!!

I bought my copy last night at Lowe's. It's sort of like a "Reader's Digest Condensed" version of this GJ web site, just without as many progression pics and as much commentary. Still, glad to now own a copy, and one day hope to get autographs from all of you privileged GJ featured designers!!!

Take it from me personally, Mr. Carl Voss and his editorial staff are very passionate about assisting us with our garage aspirations. Let's talk up this publication among our colleagues in order that we may enjoy future editions soon!

Ok, I finally bought my copy of the magazine today and it is very impressive....

BUT...

What the HELL is the deal with Nimrod's garage not being in that magazine? His garage ranks with any of the wonderful garages in the magazine and on this site. The only thing I can think of is; as we know, that his has been in some books and MAYBE he sold some kind of proprietary rights to photographs of it?

Those of you (above) who are new to this site, do yourself a favor and do a search on board member name, "Nimrod", you will be impressed.

As to the rest of you that made it into the magazine, HUUUGE congratulations. You have done what many of us (ME!) aspire to do with our garages. I am liberally stealing ideas from the mag and of course from this site.

Bought mine at Lowe's last weekend. It's a good rag but not as good as this site. You get ALOT more background, pictures and feedback here. But hey, it's only a magazine not a book!

I really only found a couple of new things that I found useful but that was worth the admission price of $7.

I don't get to have anything to do with decorating the inside of the house.
So, it was a hoot to get asked to include my garage in this magazine.
Nice job on the magazine, guys!

Personally, I think it'd make a helluva monthly magazine -[/QUOTE]

I agree 100%. If this was a monthly magazine I guarantee I would be one of the first to subscribe. However they do need to add more actual garage features. Maybe a "Garage of the Month" and leave out the multi million dollar home garages and do real garages that us GJ Member's can relate to. Other than that I have already used about 10 of the tips in the mag and have loved it so far.

Thanks for publishing it. Great Job

Jane,
I GOTTA ask, is there a reasion why Nimrod's garage was not included in your magazine? COmpeting interests because it was in a book, or did you judge it too "rough" for the average homeowner to relate to, or something? I think most of us here LOVE his garage...even if we wouldn't do ours quite the same.

Congrats to everyone from the site that made the magazine.

I've been looking through it and recognize J.J. Heyd's aluminum drawer organizers on page 94-95 from a thread here but can't find the thread. Anyone have a link or user name to search by for those? It seems like he had other ideas and more photos in the thread that I'd like to look at before I make some of them.

It was Ag-Tuff, and the ceiling material is the Phase-2® PVC AG-TUFF. My garage is the one that has it already installed in the pictures, then they did the show and tell install for the magazine shoot.

Can you give me some idea of where this material can be purchased. I do not see any information on dealers or online ordering. Thanks, Jim

I purchased it directly from H&F Mfg. (the link I listed above). They shipped it by truck to a nearby terminal and I picked it up there.

Great mag, nice to see more emphasis on the non-wood working garages out there. When is the next issue due? Ive already read it through several times. More cheap solutions next time please....
