For me, this looks promising. At 40.00 for 2-18oz cans I’m wondering if it anyone here has tried it or maybe Kraken which is at 75.00 for 2-24 oz cans.

FWIW, I thought that the great stuff wide spray would be perfect for a project I had “on the list” -insulating basement rim joists. I ordered a 2-pack from Lowe’s last fall and followed the instructions to the letter. Bottom line, it was a huge disappointment. The volume of foam was pitiful, less than half of what I would get from a similar sized can of the gap filing product.

Maybe I had a bad batch, but the nearest Lowe’s that had it in stock was an hour away, too much hassle. I chalked it up to the pain of being an early adopter.

YMMV - I wish you better luck.

Of no GrayFlattop, I hate hearing that. Maybe Kraken First Shot be little better.
If you have any real volume to do, buy a froth pak, not those cans
Mike it’s not much, on inside where the zip butts up against edge of 2x6 that has about 1/8 gap (more or less) going spray that area. 32’ long so I hope it cover it. Hope Kraken is better product than Great Stuff. I could tape it but wanted check this in can.

Interested in this.

I have a small section of existing spray foam in my attic that had to be removed for a repair. Guy says "just get a few cans from home depot and fix it right up"... Well that was better said than done and trying to use the cans designed for small gaps to rebuild a much bigger section didnt really work. I need to do something better to fix it so maybe these are worth a try.

I won’t get around trying Kraken out for week or so, but I’ll take pic and pass alone my outcome good or bad

Nope. Cans were sitting on the basement floor for days. In-floor radiant heat @70F air temp (warmer on the floor).

The application was on the south side of the house (interior) and I applied it on an afternoon in the upper 60’s. It was warmer inside since the joist bays were directly above the boiler, so that area never cooled off at night.

I’d bet that it was just a bad lot, but both cans in pack sucked equally. I had a can of their big gap filler and finished the job with that. That can worked perfectly.

When I ordered from Lowe’s, they shipped the product to me via ups. For me, not worth driving over an hour to take them back for refund or exchange. It’s a shame as I really wanted this to work as advertised. I’ve moved on.

Maybe I’d try it again if Menards or Home Depot ever starts carrying it. Either store is a 10 minute drive so an exchange or refund would have been easier. Lesson learned.

Years ago I used can foam to seal the joints on the underside of my basement/shop stairs. When I had the basement professionally spray foamed, they did about 1/2 the stairwell in 3" of closed cell (I stored stuff wrapped in plastic under the rest).

Started looking into these wide spray cans earlier this week as I'm building a closet and drywalling. ,$40+ for a kit, only carried at Lowe's (i.e. not in VT) and mixed reviews. Seems like a loosing proposition to me...
