After working on the car or rain drying on the floor from the car, I found it difficult to clean up. With a shop vac or regular carpet cleaner it still left marks. I tried a bucket and mop but that really was not for me and made such a mess even after the squeege, too much work. I have now got one of these Steamfast Steam Mop
I have a Wolverine floor with Supergrip, so my floor is not smooth and I am sure it would rip up those wetjet things. The cloth from the steam mop does catch on it a bit but it is sooooo much quicker and easier. I have cleaned up greasy dirt, dirty rain water, stains from old leaves etc. You use plain water, 2-3 minutes for the water to boil, maybe 2 or 3 swipes over an area and it is done. It could leave a bit of water, I dont notice it, but it is certainly a lot drier than with a traditional mop. Comes with 2 pads and they just go in the washing machine.
It was cheapest from Walmart online but Amazon, BJ's etc sell them, read the reviews.
Mine arrived yesterday and my wife had unpacked it before I got home and had already used it to clean our kitchen and bathroom floors. I think we might have to share it now.

I have the Shark steam mop and that thing is great - heats up real fast - very easy to use.

I may be low tech or just cheap but a regular old fashion mop works for me

Very interesting that this comes up now. I just finished a project and wanted to clean my garage floor. The mop and squeegee thing just ain't cutting it.

I spent this afternoon with the cars out, etc...and I'm not pleased with the result. Hmm...one more thing to buy. Ain't this forum great?

I have epoxy on my floor and i just use some mild degreaser mixed with hot water and scrub it with a stiff bristled broom and rinse, away goes dirt down the floor drain

Dishwasher detergent works pretty well, too. Dissolve it in a bucket of hot water, pour it on the floor, scrub with a push broom, rinse thoroughly, then squeegee the rest. Looks like glass when it's done.

I was useing purple power degreaser, and found even after rinsing with water to floor still looked dull, so the other day I picked up some simple green(I hate it) and it worked pretty good and with just a scrubbing and a good dry mop and the clean water mop it looked pretty good, No more hazy film. I scrub the simple green in with a old carwash brush and handle not with a mop.

mopping is not for you? But isn't pushing an electric steam mop around the same as pushing a non-electric, non-steam mop around? I clean my epoxied floor in a few minutes with an industrial mop kit, and it's so glossy it stays clean for months. I have, at times, used our hoover floor-mate hard floor cleaner. It gets it really clean, but is just a lot of fuss with all the liquids and all that.

I find this so much easier than using a regular mop. I tried 2 different floor cleaning detergents, plain water and a swiffer wet jet, I did not try an industrial mop kit, maybe that would have made the difference. I added suregrip into my epoxy top coat and that creates a rougher finish. The swiffer pad was ruined in a short time. I was cleaning grease and dried leaf stains and with the mop and detergent I had to work at it a number of times, maybe the suregrip made it harder. I then found the floor was wet. The steam mop is so much easier, quicker and takes up less space. No chemicals, no buckets of water, no dirty mop, or grease on the mop.
My steps, fill the steamfast with water, while it is heating up, sweep or brush the loose dirt from the floor, use the steamfast over the dried in bits, for bad parts maybe go over it 3 times but do not brush hard, let the steam do the work. I dont go over the whole garage, just the dirty spots. No drying needed or rinsing, no hard work or effort needed, best done with a beer in one hand. Then put the pad in the washing machine to be cleaned and empty the steamfast tank when it has cooled.
My garage is used for daily cars as well as working/hobby so I am looking for a clean not spotless garage which is easy to maintain.
When the snow / salt starts getting dragged in my story might change.
