I'm looking at a system from Great Western Buildings.


I'm just curious if anyone here has worked with them before? I contacted their sales, and they want a deposit before they send you to their building specialists that give you final pricing based on your requests. This seems strange to me - I usually get a final price on things to make sure it's within budget before I part with any money.

I would cross them off the list. What drew you to them?

It is a metal building company with very flashy ads that is trying to make you think you are getting better value because you paid for an estimate. Keep looking.

I dug a little deeper and it looks like they are brokers that don’t manufacture anything.

Good to know. I was originally just looking for a steel building price - when I went through their site to see examples, the buildings looked good. I did their online build and got a price quote of $13k for a 30x40x16 which in my opinion is a pretty good price.

Obviously I still have to add concrete to that, but I don't think I can come close to that price for materials doing a stick build. I was also looking at miracle truss - I like the fact that I can just stand up their trusses and then it is more like a stick build which I'm more comfortable doing though.
