I'm a long time, small time gear head. Now that I'm all growed up with a house of our own and a wife I've started my hot rod project that I've been wanting to do since I had memories. I'm doing this on a shoe string budget, and as of right now my garage is an old maple tree, and a shed next to the house. I have a pretty decent collection of tools that I've been collecting over the years, mostly Craftsman, Harbor Freight, and Craigslist and for the work that I do it works for me. I've done a fair amount of work on cars before, but never have done any body work so I picked up a Miller sidekick from craigslist, and now I'm jumping in feet first.

Welcome topher5150. Sounds familiar, shoestring budget and a tree. What are you thinking about for a hotrod and will you be starting a build thread? Good luck with your build. Don't forget just about everyone here likes pictures.

I bought it this past winter/spring, it's a 47 Ford super deluxe coupe. I have a build thread started on the H.A.M.B. called one piece at a time. I don't think that I will get a whole lot done this winter unless I can get a place to work on it, don't really feel like welding in the snow, I might just tarp it up and buy a bunch of parts for the rocker boxes, and rocker panels.

Just got back from your HAMB thread. Quite a first time build. I'll check on it from time to time. I like the 47 coupes, don't see them much around here. Keep smiling.
