Why would anyone have a garage door without having an outside seal?

I would guess that most posters on here already have an outside seal and are looking for better coverage.

Yeah, I don't get that.

If the door is in the right spot (track position) and the hinges are tight, the only thing to go wrong is for the outside seals to be messed up. Replace or install them and there should be 100% coverage on the 3 sides of the door they cover. Garage doors are very nearly air-tight in the scheme of things with this setup.

But you're right, I don't see a purpose for the green hinge setup at all?

I know personally my doors would rattle when I would open my garage door leading into the house. It almost seemed like a pressure difference from the house to opening the door into the garage. They would always shake or rattle. Even after adjusting the tracks there was always a rattle. They didn't really make much noise going up or down but for some reason it was always just in the down/closed position. These hinges definitely cured that. My outside seals are also good and make good contact with the door.

They are a little pricey but considering the cost of **** in the garage and or stuff already done this was a small thing to do to ensure that the door is always pressed up against the seal. I am happy that it doesn't make any noise opening up the inside door to the garage.

You should never have to tighten or loosen your track. The vast majority of professional doors will come with the track brackets in a fixed position. The only time this would be an option would be a store bought or commercial door. The only instance where adjusting the track is a viable option would be a store bought door installed by someone incompetent.

I installed the commercial Green Hinges on my 16' door and it is now tight against the frame. I also installed sealed bearing nylon rollers, cleaned the tracks and lubed the torsion spring. It is like a new installation and so quiet I can't believe it. It took me less than an hour to do it all.

I have my garage doors in a 90*, side load against a house straight on. One takes a miserable beating from the North wind and these hinges solved the issue. I am contemplating putting them on the other door that gets a West wind now even though not as prevalent just to make it tight on the couple days a year it does to help with the heating bill. The smallest gap and the cold air just freaking pours in. I can't tell everyone enough to get these and Lester is a great small business owner to deal with.

I too was interested in these, until I priced the amount necessary for my 8 overhead doors! I figured fuel savings wouldn't repay the cost in my lifetime.

I was about to order a set for my double doors and finally joined this site to get the promo code of %10. It appears I need to pay to get this discount. I won't buy full retail for anything so this is going to wait until I can find a discount. Looks like a great product!

But for now I'm going to Home Depot to buy new seals first and install radiant barrier on the door. Was hoping to do a garage door day with these hinges while I install a Zwave opener too.
