I spotted a KRA5311PKG sitting outside of the pawn shop today. Opened it up and it's got a few ratchets, a torque wrench, pipe wrenches, impact, and a few other things. All of it snap on, Mac, and cornwell. The manager said he could take $2700 out the door. The box is very nice. No dents or scratches and it has a black top on it as well. Just a few trashy lookin stickers on the side. So should I pass or play?

Box retails for $3200. Top is a nice addition. Color is a plus. In my store the box would be $1800. Add in about 50% of retail for the tools if you need them and that is what it is worth IMO. So I am guessing about $2200 for the package.

But high for a heritage box, you can buy a classic 78 which are bigger and come in green for $1500-2000 all day long.

LOL. Shop around. That box can be bought for used with a little effort for $1,000 or less. Sounds like a few hundred in tools.

In your basement...seriously, go look now!
Classic pawn-shop markup - they have to make a profit and they know what the fair market value is. $2700 is appropriate for their business but unless they have some killer ratchets in there I'd look elsewhere for a better deal.

Btw, not knocking the pawn shop model, love watching "Pawn Stars" and "********* Pawn".

The contents of the box by my figure is worth about $500 to me. A Mac 3/8 flex head about 12" long, 2 snap on 1/2 flex heads one about 18" and one about 2', a craftsman 3/4", a cornwell socket set with ratchet (one of those pass through kind), a cornwell 1/2" impact, two full sets of impact sockets (not sure on brand but they were Taiwan - in cornwell looking boxes), 3 brand new rigid pipe wrenches - I think it was 10, 14, and I know it was a 36" aluminum. A new set of snap on punches and chisels in a roll, and a snap on click torque wrench that looks never used

Agree....that is about what that stuff is worth used..maybe even a bit more. Box an't worth much and I dare say it is worth more than it is. Meaning I am not too impressed with the quality of those boxes, but they are worth more than they should be because of the chrome nameplate. So, $1,200 overpriced.
