I picked up a Greene, Tweed & Co. BASA hammer #1, what do the initials BASA stand for?

Not sure about the initials but try calling this phone # (215)-256-9521 and they can tell you on the phone what the initials stand for.
If it is a split rawhide hammer and in good shape it will look good in a hammer collection.
