I just bought an old Greenerd Arbor Press and am going to restore it. It is missing the round anvil that has the slots and spins on the center pin. I have the diameter which from what I found is 10 3/8 inches and thickness of 1 1/8. I have the slot width sizes as well which are 1 3/8, 2, 2 5/8 and 3 inches. What I don't have is the length of the slots, (from the outside diameter to where they stop toward the center pin). So could someone help me out with that measurement please. From pictures is seen on the internet it appears some of the slots run deeper on some machines than others. I would think that the anvil slot when put on the machine would be lined up with the slot on the platform of the machine but want to make sure as I want it as original and functional as possible. thanks Paul

Imo, round holes are actually better for almost everything that goes on an arbor press.

But you'll eventually find that part where things have to go in a U-shaped slot.

You might be able to find someone with a flame/plasma/laser cutter to make a new one quite a bit faster than brewing your own. Or setup a VMC program, bolt down the center of the blank, and let it eat for awhile.

1982-um yeah first thing I did. I spoke with Tom. Nice guy buy said he couldn't give me details of specific parts for me to make myself. I understand that. They get $354.00 for a new.
thanks cvairworks
Matt I have my own cnc plasma table but my limit to cut is 1 inch. I have a nephew that is an engineer and he will flame cut it for me as soon as I get measurements. I just wanted to build it to the same specs as original. thanks Matt

I laser cut 3 plates 1” thick for my atlas. I cut a variety of shapes on each plate, and made them interchangeable.

The only thing I did was make sure none of the slots were deeper than the throat of the press.
