Greenlee 1346 bandsaw

Saw this for sale and was wondering if any of you guys would recommend it. Can't find if its made in USA or not anywhere. It would surely be a step up from my CHICOM 4x6 I'm thinking

It's better than the imports if all you need is a horizontal. Stuff in doodah tends to be more expensive than Tulsa, okc, KC or just about anywhere because of aircraft. If it's in good shape and fits your needs I would say go for it. I wouldn't call it a steal but it seems like a fair, if slightly high, price to me. I'd offer to take a look at it but I'm in Canada now until Saturday night.

Adding, it's also 6x9 vs the inexpensive 4x6 that is more common. If I needed one and didn't have my 7x12, I would consider it. You won't be able to use it in vertical mode, which is one area the imports are nice.

She may not be pretty but being greenlee it’s built very well. I’d probably jump on it after a test cut.

Well I got it. Overall I'm happy with it. Didn't come with the work support or handles but that's no biggie.
On unloading it though It fell and I bent the gearbox input shaft
Hopefully a straightforward repair.

Well doesn’t that **** a huge set. But congrats anyhow and it wouldn’t surprise me if you can still source a replacement from greenlee.

alfadan - hope you got your saw running.
I've had a 1346 a couple years now, and am in need of cutting a bunch of 45 miters in 1" 304SS angle.

I have a pdf of the original manual; which also conveniently indicates the 1346 has a tilting head. Unfortunately, mine does not appear to have that function - so I am trying to find someone who has this model that also has the tilting head.

While the manual also includes a pretty complete parts illustration... alas it does not mention the tilt/miter components.

LMN if you want the manual sent to an email. Would appreciate any details on the miter attachment/details if yours is so equipped..
