Greenlee Power Tools

Every time I go to Menard's, I walk past this endcap full of Greenlee regular ol' power tools on clearance. They've been on clearance since the day they arrived. I think Menard's just bought a couple of truckloads for pennies on the dollar and sent a pallet to every store the way they do with some stuff.

I've seen the prices and just laughed and walked on by because I'd never heard that they were making power tools like these. For me, being that the Greenlee hand tools I'm exposed to nowadays are all Chinese-made stuff, I assumed that the power tools would be trash.

Today I took a closer look at just the drills for the hell of it...

These things are re-badged Panasonics. I swear to god. Even the little accent dots on the handle are the same, just a different color.

Sooooooo...the opposite of ****. Go take a look at 'em. Cheapest price you'll ever see on a Panasonic drill, I reckon.

Right now, the 14.4v Li-Ion is $69 after mail in rebate. Spare batteries are $23. The Panasonic with a battery and charger is $300-$400 everywhere else. Spare batteries for it are $90-$125 everywhere else.

since that is an older less powered 14.4 volt model they are probably closing them out. that should be plenty of power for most homeowners and if i needed one i'd probably buy an extra battery or two.

i used my Makita 9.6 volt for years until the batteries all eventually went dead and decided to upgrade to Ryobi 18v which i'm very happy with. by the way the Ryobi chainsaw that runs on the 18v batteries is amazing.

i have always like Greenlee products in the past so not surprising these older models still have that same quality.
