Sorry!!I just now noticed this intro page and made a few post without doing a proper intoduction.
My name is Dave..I live in a small Eastern Iowa town of Lone Tree,Ia.
Am married(20 years) and have 1 child,a son who is 7.
My hobbies are Model Railroading(HO Scale primarily)and collecting model railroad stuff of all guages and I also collect actual RR stuff mostly items from the Chicago Rock Island&Pacific RR(CRIP or The Rock).
I also fix/restore/ride old Honda motorcycles(Current stable are a 1971 CB 100,1973 CB 350,1978 550K).My wife rides a Vision 250R(Honda Rebel clone).My son rides a small 50cc quad,but it is being sold to get him a small motorcycle(50-90cc)..My wife and I have completed a 2 up Saddlesore 1000 on a Kawasaki ZG1000 Concours(sold) to gain entrance into the Ironbutt Association www.ironbutt.com(awaiting verification).
We are restoring a 1969 Buick Riviera as time and money allow.Will be trailering it to the 2008 Riviera Owners Association (http://www.rivowners.org/) annual meet at Galena,Il in late June of this year.
I also fix up old air compressors when I find them cheap or the owners deem them as junk.
I am a member of the American Legion and spent 9 years active military service in the U.S. Army from 1983-1992.In addition to 6 year overseas service I am also a Desert Storm/Desert Shield Veteran and participated in Operation Just Cause(Panama).
My current occupation is a truck driver which I have done since 1993.Started driving Semi's shortly after ETS from the Army..Am currently employed by JB Hunt Transport as a Chicago Regional Intermodal driver.
I found this site on a Google search while searching for info on garage heaters(currently use salemanders,but want to put in a overhead NG unit) and started reading post's/threads and found myself reading and readin on topics I wasn't even looking for at the time..The wealth of info and quality of the post's and posters compelled me to join..
I just hope I can in some way contribute and be a asset to this site!!
