Hi, mob. My 1st post. I lurk & learn, mostly. I work a building trade for a paycheck and I wrench
mostly for myself. "Under car", for me means jack-stands. My "service cart" for this is an old Mac tote tray
on a skateboard, right next to my creeper. (WTH, it works...:)) "Under hood" means the same tote on a stack of milk crates...

Strangely enough, I'm in the market for a service cart now. I'll keep looking at CL, but elsewhere I see ads for new 4 drawer
ATD 7045's that have a 6" deep till w. 'driver & pry bar storage, 500 lb load cap., 5" X 1-1/4" casters (meh) and net weight 145 lbs (VS 153 for a KRSC33 or 120 for the 5 drawer HF). New for $350'ish and supposedly free shipping. I like the feel of even the economy line ATD stuff better than the one 5 drawer HF that I've looked at on display. Six Benjies VIA CL got me a pretty cherry ATD 7090 top & 7118 side locker on a 7091 42" 11 drawer roller, on 5"X2" casters.

So far, I haven't found any threads that mention ATD boxes at all, or their COO. I'm guessing it at least used
to be Canada - some vendor's sites still claim this, but ATD's own site doesn't mention COO at all, FWIW.
SO, if anyone knows of any threads that discuss ATD boxes or carts, I'd love to know about it. I'm not fixated on this brand of box, but wouldn't mind learning more.

Thankyew, thankyew, I'll be here all week. :bounce:

Hannibal: nice first post and i'm sure you'll fit right in. don't worry about the method you are working now because that will change. at least it sounds like you have a garage because some members work in the gravel driveway in the snow or have their tools in a closet or apartment's bedroom.

that said welcome to the group and I also live in the same general area and hope you are enjoying the heat wave we are having.

cheers

Ah, yeah, heat wave's all right; a real summer for once.
I still work in the driveway (garage is too crowded), but at
least it's a concrete driveway.

I do remember the "good old days" of fabbing custom PA
speakers in a studio apartment - with not much
more than two files, a sanding block, and this mustard-
colored Black & Decker jigsaw that would rattle itself apart
if you didn't re-torque its fasteners after every other cut.

I'll just continue keeping an eye out for mentions of ATD
boxes. FWIW, I have done outboard searches for GJ threads.
This short one:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54310
points out how much the ATD boxes look like SPG
international, and yes, yes they do. Now to find out whether or
not they're still made in Quebec, and whether or not the
vendors I've been looking at ship it ON or OFF pallet, etc.

All while still keeping an eye super-glued to CL, of course.
