Just found your forum while looking up shop ideas. I work as a safety professional, and also run a small motorcycle engine shop specializing in offroad racing engines. In the last couple years I have tooled up to build custom Harley Davidson engines. Now I mostly just do the HD stuff. For the last 20 years I have leased a shop downtown, but I am getting older and want to move the business to my house. I just purchased a home on 1/2 acre, and I am in the early stages of planning my new shop. There is a 1000sq foot shop bak there now that is very nice, and I plan to erect a metal building next to it rather than demo the smaller shop. I'm not sure what size, but I am thinking 30X50, or 40X60. I'm finding out that it aint cheap.
