shakyman - Welcome to GJ

I have been given a few bottles of scotch from your side of the pond recently.

The Macallan 18, The Glenlivet 21 - what is with all the numbers after the name, and what do the numbers mean?

Do ya think the stuff any good? Is still safe to drink?

thank,s for the warm welcomes...ahhh whisky..the water of life!..the numbers relate to the years spent maturing in the casks..the older the more complex flavours..(certainly more expensive anyway!)..safe to drink..yes !!(in moderation)..:beer:

Good to know - "the water of life" with complex flavors - I'm going to have to try this old scotch whiskey stuff and give you a report back if it's any good...

Don't worry, I'll be careful :thumbup::beer2:
