First I want to thank all who contribute to thi info here.
Research is going to save me some lumps hopefully.
I am in the planning stages of a @ 30 × 50 × 16 building to house vehicles, store equipment, and provide some workspace.
The kicker is I am interested in building a small 300-500f apartment inside.
As this is florida gainesville area
l am concerned about humidity, hurricanes.and would like to use this as a hurricane shelter and or bug out location.
Looking into pole barns, red iron, and my real dream would be block.
Anyway anyone local or close that does this for a living or who has a good recommendation would sure be appreciated

Ill be happy to troubleshoot your ac failure anytime over phone or in person if you're close.
Want to be moved in in 9 months

Welcome to GJ, acfixer. Glad you found us and hope you can get some ideas from here on laying out your shop and apartment, but your local building department would be the best place to see what is possible to build or not. Or, ask a local architect or contractor to see what to expect.

To answer your specific question here, post it in a new thread under 'General Garage Discussion'. This page is really for introductions and doesn't get the foot traffic that the other pages do.

I spoke to the wife about trading our house for a larger garage with an inside studio apartment but she wouldn't go for it. Can't wait to see yours!
