Spent years lurking the forum in envy as I never had my own garage or workspace, most of my previous residences were apartments rentals. It is now time to join the ranks

First day, its an undersized one car garage originally built in 1908. Dimensions are roughly 11'x15'. It needed some work prior to moving in, the sellers had to replace termite damage and added some supports hence the extra 2x4s.

Unfortunately, my small coupe barely fits inside and there would be little to no room to move around if I were to do any work inside. I considered renovating and building out the garage but would prefer to not raise my property taxes, they're outrageous as-is.
Main purpose of the garage will be for my motorcycle (hopefully plural in the future) and for general equipment storage. Not sure what the first steps will be but I'm considering some insulation and possible create an attic space for more storage.

Glad to be here, looking forward to interacting with the community. :D

A 2001 Honda CBR F4i, my trusty crotch rocket ;) Previously owned by a self-proclaimed stunter. I did the good deed of returning it back to stock and keeping the front wheel down while I ride.

Greetings fellow LIer, I'm out in Islip, yea taxes **** here, it is the land of no, can't wait to move, lol.

Most of my out of state friends think I'm exaggerating about the property tax. I'm not sure why anyone would make that up haha

I spent a fair bit of time on Long Island 20 years ago when my company's head office was in Hauppauge.

Welcome to the Forum from Southwestern California. Years ago my "Workshop" was a scrap of cardboard on the Kitchen Table, in a small apartment. Times have changed for the better.

Welcome to the forum ! I’m in Huntington. [emoji846]

Before all the covid lockdowns, The Paramount was one of my favorite venues. Spent a lot of time in your area.

There are plenty of one car garages here that members have customized for their hobbies and toys. Do you have a service(entry)door? I see the window and you have electric.

Unfortunately, no side entrance door. I already need more outlets lol

For sure times have changed for the better, bigger toys need bigger space.
