Hi there!

I hail from the great state of Michigan, which is unfortunately mostly brown at the moment. Word has it we could get 3" of rain here over the weekend but my fingers are crossed that it will miraculously fall as snow instead. Winter is my favorite season and a great time of year to be out in the garage wrenching aside the romantic glow of a 75,000 BTU kerosene heater.
Recently, I upped and moved the homestead a few towns over to make room for my growing family. What brings me to this forum is the state of my new garage. It's detached (a strong preference for me) but needs lots of love to be in fighting shape for my weekend wrenching. It currently has one electrical outlet and one light bulb (operated by a pull chain of course). The door is manual, one-piece, and doesn't close all the way. The roof leaks and the siding appears to be the cheapest particle board that the Home Despot had on sale last year. Based on what I've seen parosing the pages of this fine establishment, your insight will be invaluable in helping me whip this old car house into form.
I look forward to getting to know some of you guys and hope I can lend a little of my own, albeit very limited, expertise for others in need.
Cheers!

Welcome to a forum that will lead to wallet leaks.

Already having an old jeep, an old sailboat, and a gun problem, I'm not sure how much worse my wallet leak problem could get before my wife takes my credit cards.

Welcome aboard from the (brown) suburbs of Grand Rapids!!!!

There are quite a few Jeep guys on here (I'm a recovering CJ & YJ addict), so don't hesitate to post up a picture or two!!!

Recovery is the first step but it's also one I'm not willing to take! My family has a jeep addiction going all the way back to the 40s so we're unlikely to be rid of it any time soon. Here are a couple pictures of my M38A1 (hauling dogs in the first picture and precious Bavarian cargo in the second). The third picture is my family's CJ-7 which solidified my Jeep adiction during childhood.

Restless_Redhead: I'd love to see some pictures of that Grand Wagoneer. I love the looks of FSJs, I just wish they would have made some with manuals. An FSJ with an old diesel and manual trans (300d running gear maybe) would be just perfect for me.
