Hello from NYC. Originally from upstate New York but moved to the city for work. As I'm sure you can imagine it is impossible to have a garage in NYC but I do often go upstate to visit my parents and work in my dads garage. I'm working on getting out of NYC and getting a garage of my own.
I just found this site yesterday (10/23/10) and it has already provided hours of day dreaming ideas for when I'm ready to build. I am looking to put something together that combines a wood shop on one side and mechanic shop on the other. My dad has an Alfa Romeo that we have been slowly restoring and it would be awesome to get a place dedicated to the car. I've got a few drawings together but nothing even close to final yet.
I'll be checking back often to see what everyone is doing and chip in where I can. My work background is financial, stocks, management etc... but I grew up with my dad as a general contractor and garage fly. Just looking to get back to my roots so to speak.
Rock on. Thanks for having me. I look forward to contributing in the future.
