North Run Grader
Well-known member
When I started running a motor grader there were 2 graders for the Virginia Hills area. I took over the north run and the name kind of stuck. By far this has been my most enjoyable career, so much so that I'm in partnership with my Dad and we own that lovely piece of Caterpillar technology.
A bit of background. I have done a little of everything over the years, from building houses, foundation to finish, hotel maintenance, plumbing, electrical, metal fabrication, fixing and selling old trucks, towing and recovery for 8.5 years. I even ran a milk route, and for 3 years a bread route for Canada Bread. I've worked on pipelines, operated heavy equipment, and done more manual labor then I care to remember. I know enough to be dangerous
I'm located in Swan Hills, Alberta, about 20 kms away from the geographic center of Alberta. The town site has a higher elevation then the lower chalet at Marmot Basin ski hill in Jasper, AB. I know that cause I lived in Jasper for 11.5 years, I miss the mountains, but enjoy being able to afford my house and garage without a $500,000 mortgage. Long cold winters with lots of snow here. Which is a good thing as that's how we make our money, snow removal from over 60 miles of oilfield roads and leases.
I want to thank the hosts of Garage Journal for such an excellent site with so much information available. I also thank every contributing member for so much info.
