I somehow missed this thread -- I am convered in ribbons of shame therefor.

I'm a motorcyclist, knifemaker, and very beginning level machinist (it's good to keep learning things) . . . . .

I've got a 20 X 30 garage in the northern-Chicago suburbs (about half way between the Loop and the state line) . . . . when we moved in 7 years ago, it had one, count em, one 110 volt outlet, and one hanging light fixture equipped with a super delux 40w bulb! The structure is in a bit better shape these days, though it is certainly a project in progress kinda thing -- a fair amount of light (though I'd LOVE more windows, I'm not willing to give up the wall space), insulated, heated, and it's a nice joint to hang out in all winter long . . .

The major project presenlty is stripping my wife's 1931 Ford for paint -- isn't it amazing how much room a dis-assembled car takes up?

I refer to the garage/shop as the Entropy Lab, as it generally looks like experiments in the flow of order to disorder are being carried out . . . .

thanks for this great resource -- though I have little ineterest in having a clean-room envirnoment like many here, I've found a great deal of great information -- I hope I'll be able to add to it from time to time.
