Hello all, a friend told me about this site yesterday and I had to join. Pretty amazing the creativity that some folks have with such small spaces.

Our first place was a car-port. Then we upgraded to a 1-car garage that didn't really fit my car. Then we moved to a house with a 2-car garage and I was so excited. Then I realized I hated having 2 single doors and a support post in the center. It really made the place unusable. That and having toys, bicycles, skateboards, scooters and the like taking up a lot of space.

I always had a dream of having a garage for that type of stuff and a shop to work in. Well a year ago, that dream was realized. We moved to a house that had a pole barn for a couple horses. It's become my shop over the last year. It's been fun setting it up and really making a great work space.

Wow, thanks for the welcomes. Sorry it's been so long in coming but I found that the default setting is that no email is sent when a reply is posted. I've remedied that now.

I'm from Damascus OR, a little town on the edge of Portland.

Here are a couple shots inside the shop and one outside of the new exterior light. It replaced an outside light that was hanging by the wires. It worked ok for a while but then after a while created the coolest show of sparks when you turned it on before the breaker blew. It was time to replace. I found the fixture at a builders recycling place and had my cousin bend the pipe for install. It turned out pretty good.
