this pic is of the 2) 10' by 10" doors for the front. The firehouse in a town near Monroe was torn down for road expansion and I bought the glass, rollup doors. They are 12' by 12' but I'm going to take the alm frames apart and cut them down and cut the glass. A friend works for the company that built the doors and he'll assist.
Two new doors would have been $1,450 each and I have 500 bucks in these, so far.

this shot is "back to front" through the truss system. The barn is 31' deep and 60' wide, The walls are 2" by 6" 12 foot studs on 16" centers. I wanted the floor open and planned to run 2 I-beams the 31 foot length on either side of the door opening until I priced the steel beams/floor joists and "stick" roof cost. Trusses were much cheaper but I hoped for some storage space. Did some reasearch on the 'net and found "bonus room" or attic trusses.

these create a 12' wide 8' high space and the bottom joist is 2" by 8". I bought half the trusses this style and half in standard "king" for the middle of the barn. We ripped 2'by8"s left over from the house and pu them on top of the 2"by6" joists in the king trusses so the walkway between the ends of the barn is the same height. I haven't laid the floor decking yet (waiting on a screw gun) but will glue and screw double 1/2" OSB decking.

in that shot you'll notice the "Techshield" roof decking. This is 1/2" OSB with a thin alm film laminated to the inside. Regular osb is $4.98 a sheet and this is $7.20 but WHAT a difference it makes in the heat comming through and you can patch any holes from the roofers with alm tape (won't stick to plane osb).
The door at the end is an access to the loft and the "church" looking overhang is covering the opening.I plan to hang old gas station signs on this end of the barn and restore an old gas pump.
more pics and tales later
