A 65 year old compressor led me to this fantastic site! So I felt duty bound to post my first message on the "show us your compressor" post. If you are an expert on old compressors and how they should perform, I would appreciate your taking a look at my queries over there.
The compressor was too good to pass up. I am into restoring British sports cars (MGB & MGA) and am at the point where my dual action sander was running my little portable compressor ragged. I am in the middle of a frame off restoration on a 1958 MGA coupe.
My shop is a 2 story chicken coop that was falling down when we moved onto the old abandoned dairy farm 25 years ago. Kids and other priorities made it a 20 year remodel, but when it was done, it was begging for a project. I now have 5 MG's arranged inside (2 are parts cars). Only one is up and running, but I have more of a blast working on them than driving them anyway.
Anyway, it has only been lately that I realized that my shop is just as much a hobby as the cars. It causes me to be on the look out for all sorts of "trim" items. Some of them are even useful. Like this old compressor!
What a great site - thanks for having me!
