I've used this site for years. I figured I'd finally join officially as a contributor and not just a consumer of the information I've found! Although...it's my nature to ask more questions and give fewer answers
My wife and our two children enjoy a nice "fixer upper" nearly on Lake Champlain. We purchased this 1952 home in 2009 and it was a complete wreck. The garage was probably the worst part of it! The previous owner had backed into one of the carport support "pipes". Every year, the snow load pulls the carport and attached 14'x24' over.
We finally have the funds to begin renovating everything. The inside of the home was taken down to joists and studs. It's finally about 80% complete and we're attempting to live in the renovation. Not easy!
About a month ago, we added a second small 14'x28' garage for my business. It was actually more cost effective than building a larger garage where the old one now sits.
Now, we are finishing up the new garage and renovating the critical areas of the old one.
Currently, our two largest problems are:
1) attempting to finish OSB
2) workbench space that will still allow my truck in the new garage.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to picking your collective brain!
