Hi folks. I signed up a month or so ago and lurked for awhile but I feel now I should introduce myself.
I am an avid do it yourselfer with a "can do" attitude. There are not many jobs I hire out........EVER! Partly because I can't always afford it and partly because I know that I will do the job better than many "tradespeople" might. There is more care taken if you actually own it.
My shop is a 24'x36' with 10' ceilings. I do a wide variety of work there. In the fall/winter I install remote car starters for extra $$ (yes I'm insured for it).
I love working on old tractors, small engines, vehicles etc. I have an old Massey Ferguson industrial tractor with loader and backhoe and I have done lots of work around the yard with it. I have a background in electronics and spent over 15 years as a consumer electronics service technician. I enjoy carpentry, any type of home improvement and do all my own electrical, plumbing, drywall, tile work, etc. etc. etc. About the only thing I hire out is natural gas work although I did hook up my own gas dryer and BBQ.
Over the past winter/spring I did a complete body and paint job on my '98 Silverado including replacement of cab corners and rear wheel arches.
Like I said, there is not much I won't tackle.

More recently I have been upgrading the heat in my shop going from an old oil furnace to a hanging 75KBTU unit heater (Reznor) which is what brought me by the site today. I've been waiting a couple weeks for a vent kit to arrive from a local jobber and I'm getting frustrated with waiting. I'll probably post about that in the appropriate forum.

Ok so that was a little long winded. Glad to be here and CHEERS!

I will post some pics when I get my heater running and get things tidied up a bit. It always seems to be a work in progress.
