Grey Pneumatic tools and sockets are Taiwan made. It's not a Canadian based company.

Grey Pneumatic impact sockets are very strong, durable, and moderately priced. They are also thinner than alot of other brand impact sockets which leads me to believe that these sets may just be regualr repackaged impact sockets. I haven't seen them yet.

I hate Grey Pneumatic tools.... I first bought them with the intention of replacing them with a truck brand asap. Unfortunately I haven't found a need to replace them.

Aside from PTEN and the Grey Pneumatic web site, I have not seen it .. Product was released this April .. if it is anywhere as reliable as their impact stuff, it may be worth buying. Hopefully thetoolwarehouse.net and tooltopia.com will have them soon ..

what stops me from using my normal gray impact sockets by hand anyways? i just dont see what the difference is between these and normal impact sockets

Probably wall thickness .. their impact stuff are real beefy ..

My guess would be wall thickness is smaller. They may be made with a higher strength steel, thus reducing the required wall thickness to meet demands of impact guns. Merely a guess though

Yeap, they are manufactured in Taiwan. We just placed an order for our trucks. Our customers are anxious to get their hands on them. We will just have to wait to see how they hold up. If they start falling apart on my customers I'll post. Grey Pneumatic impact sockets haven't failed our customers yet nor have they failed us.

I like my regular impact grey pneumatics sockets, and so does everyeone at my work and we all do heavy equipment.
We get them at dealer cost, I got like 58 sockets for 200 bucks.

I've had the 3/8 drive Duo Socket set from Grey Pnuematic for about a month now. Sockets are pretty thin walled for impact use in my opinion. The set I have has shallow and deep sockets sae from 5/16-1" and metric 8-24mm 2 wobble extensions and 72 tooth ratchet that is very smooth. I mostly use it around the house doing side jobs not really beating on them with impact. I'm pretty happy with them for the price I gave $160 on sale from a local big truck parts store.
BB26 - I have seen them and I was pretty impressed based on closely looking them over. However, I wasn't in the market and didn't buy any, nor have a used any.
A friend bought the entire set in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" and he has put them through a workout on his GTO. He really likes them, especially at the price point they are at. What I don't know is how much impact time he has on them, I would guess very little.
Thanks KLars and AutoTech. I don't expect these to replace regular impacts necessarily. I already have full sets of those. I am looking at them for that occasional situation where a regular impact will not fit. Over the years I have used my good chrome sockets (SO, Proto, Wright, Mac, etc.) in these situations to get the job done, but I would prefer not to beat them up on an impact. These GP Duo sockets look like a great solution for me.

I know I'm reviving this thread but has anyone used these a lot on an impact yet? Tooltopia.com has them and I found out that I live 60 miles from the business. I'm interested in them and would like to check them out at least.

The Grey Pneumatic stuff isnt bad FOR THE MONEY. I sell it on my truck as an alternative if someone cant afford to shell out for the good stuff. Like a guy that just got out of school, tools stolen...etc. But for the long term id get some higher quality. The company really comes in handy when you need a very large socket or something like that. Theyre about 1/3 or less the price of Matco or Snapon.
impact sockets arent rocket science. No justification in the list price Snap-On and Matco charge. Plenty of professional wrenches have stated that the GP sockets have performed phenomenally here.
And its much cheaper than 1/3 unless you give generous discounts. Or perhaps that was a typo and you meant you get 1/3 the number of sockets while paying nearly 2x the price?
