Hello guys,

I'm looking to get a cheaper but complete set of impact sockets and I came across this Taiwanese brand. I will invest in USA made truck brand at some point but individual ones like deep 13,17,19.

particularly interested in this $53 set:

anyone have uses/own them?
I dont completely trust amazon reviews, they sound too awesome.

Thanks!

I use the double square (8 point) 1/2" drive, 3/8" drive square (tap) and 3/8" drive metric swivel sockets at work. I have not had any issues. Though I'm not real keen on the markings, I used paint pen to improve the size markings.

I have the deep 1/2 metric and standard sets. Not like I am using them all the time but I like them, and have not had any trouble.

The regular shallow and deep sockets in all drive sizes are pretty good and are a great value for what you get vs what you pay. The impact swivels on the other hand...not so great. They wear out too fast under hard daily use. They get loose and floppy or the pins break. I personally got tired of it and got rid of all my GP Impact wobbles.

They might be alright for home use, backups or starting techs though.

Red wrench: did you have issues with the 1/2" or 3/8" drive? I was considering grabbing the 1/2" drive as I have not had any issues with the 3/8" wobble, but even with daily use they would not see the same kind of stress as the 1/2".

Rocking the duo master sets in 3/8ths and 1/4inch for 2 years everyday with zero failures of any kind. Grey pneumatic always gets a plus 1 from me.

The sets I had were dedicated 3/8" drive impact wobbles in metric and SAE and I broke or wore them out pretty frequently. I also had a 1/2" drive impact wobble adaptor that you use with regular sockets and I broke it twice on hard pulls with stout impacts. Its a little scary when they let go under full throttle and pieces of wobble and the heavy *** 1/2" drive socket fly at your face! I got rid of most of them and the ones I have left I save for light or moderate duty in my truck toolbox for junkyard runs.

Buy the set for now, and if you ever break ot wear out one buy a higher end replacement single off the truck. This should be at least a couple years down the road even with very heavy use. These sets are pretty decent quality and should last a long time.

almost all of my impact sockets are GP. i have never broken one but my Mac dealer will warrenty them if i break one. i also have several sets of the impact hex and torx GP sets and i have been overly satisified with them. for the money they are worth it.
