Finished this up tonight, I wanted a park style grill, but added some ideas from a "sportsman" cast iron grill. Story starts with the grill rack, Mom had bought a couple a few years ago for I forget what reason (possibly retro fitting or building a grill). For the last couple years I told her I was going to build a grill with them. Finally did, but she's not around to see it. :(

The grill racks are Lodge brand and they're around 15" x 11", So I based things on that. I had pretty much all the steel except for the small angle used on the coal rack, So I've got a whole 8.14$ in to the thing.

I still need to make a little rake thingy to get the dust out of the bottom and possibly make a damper similar to the one the sportsman grill has (I actually pulled that grill out of the scrap at work, complete, including legs and fryer dish). I should see about a sheet metal cover as well.

I painted the outside with BBQ paint and added the truck brake drum for stability since the thing weighs quite a bit (a lot of 1/4" plate steel). Probably 5-6 hours total build time, some of which was spent cleaning up rusty steel.

Everything turned out pretty well. The stand does sit a bit tilted, not sure what happened there yet. Not a big deal as it can be leveled easily where I got it placed on some small washed rock.

Thanks. It was actually fun to do, I've not done much fab type work in a while.

I saw the racks on amazon, I think they are discontinued so the price gouging must have took over. IIRC they were around 30-40$
