Here's my belt grinder stand. The grinder is mounted to a tube that allows it to be rotated so it can be used in the horizontal position. Laying the grinder down gives better access to the lower contact wheel.

Sweet. Could I pester you into taking a few detail shots of the tube and how it's built?

When I bought our last house, the seller took everything out of the barn, except a cast iron(?) pipe with flanges on each end. It must weigh 200#
I bolted a piece of ply to it and mounted 4 grinders on it. It's solid, and by tilting, it can be rolled around a bit.

Here's some pix of my grinder/buffer/belt sander stand, it's a
35" dia. lazy susan.
It works great great except that it's kinda hard to turn as the ball
rollers get clogged up with saw dust and other ****.
I put holes in it for a locking pin to hold it in place, but I really don't
need it since it really takes some effort to turn it. :)

Turns out I don't have any close ups of the assembly, but here are the clamps themselves before I split them in half.

These are 3" x 0.250" wall steel tube that was left over from another project. The tube the grinder is mounted to is 2.5" OD, and was salvaged from a crashed sprint car axle. It has tabs welded on that have holes matching the bolt pattern on the grinder.

My off hand grinders, wire-wheels, buffers..

First two are on simple stands made from scrap heavy duty truck parts, a South Bend Lathe grinder, and a buffer set up that has no maker's mark on it (got it at an auction for a steal)..

Nice find.

Would you still have the link for the feet?

Hockey pucks. Like this. $2 each at most sporting goods stores.

I turned them in a lathe, but you can use a paddle bit the size of your washer, to counter bore, then a regular drill for the through hole. The rubber cuts very nice, not like tire rubber at all.

Here are my stands.

2 on left are Craftsman, no storage like the Stanley and TP (too bad), and a ToolTopia under the Dayton.

Better pic of CM stand(s), left most is almost NIB.

Stands that have accumulated from CM Block grinders and will be re-purposed.

Nice job. Lathe.

Now, let's see:
Hockey pucks @ $2/each x 4 stands (4 feet each) + 3 for compressor = $2 x 19 = $38. Check
19 bolt, nut & washer ***'y - in stock. Check
1 - Lathe & tooling = Honey? :willy_nil

I can't seem to find anything on line for them but they are available at Princess Auto and come in 2 sizes - 2.5" and 3" dia. Both are 1.5" thick and have a 0.5" bolt hole. The cost is about $3 to $4 ea. I'm not sure if PA ships to the U.S.

The larger ones are a bit bigger than a hockey puck and they are quite a bit softer which helps to dampen vibrations.

EDIT - I found them in the hard copy of the PA catalogue I have but they are not on line for some reason. They are listed as "End Caps" in the "Rubber Boat Rollers" section. You might be able to find them at a marine supply outlet. I was off in my measurements. They come in 3" and 3.5" dia. Both sizes cost $3.99.

I-beam bolted to a piece of stainless plate. Works ok, except the stainless has a definitive curve to it. Not severe, but when the grinder get pushed hard, the damn thing can and will move. Rotated the sheet originally so the curve was down, got caught on the grating over the sump, took a fall and broke the grinder wheel. Wire brush made it thru, but I guess I was due for a new wheel anyway. Grinder has a dent in the head, but it still keeps going. Lost about 2 seconds of free spin when shutting down compared to original length of time.

Took the wire cup brush to the ped and then hit it with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of john deere green that I had in the paint cupboard.

Here is the machine that this base is from
