I was looking at some grinders at an auction I want to bid on. Does anyone have a clue on what a good price to pay for these.

Baldor 500 is a tool grinder that either has carbide or diamond face wheels. It should have tables on both sides and may have drip cups on top. A complete one will generally bring $250-500, depending on condition, stand, etc. New they run over a grand.

Here a complete Baldor 500 would bring that $350-500.

However, check closely. Many are three-phase.

Catch: Baldors are great machines. if abused they can a POS so are you able to hear it run? if not any weird sounds then you probably are ok, but since some are left on almost 24/7 for days, weeks and months at a time some will need a complete rebuild.

do you have pictures of the one you are asking about?

It's a carbide grinder to sharpen tooling. It uses special wheel and is reversible. Switch has three positions - CW-off-CCW

Here is what wheel looks like

It is mounted with 4 bolts to a flange that is connected to shaft.
