I have a 8 inch grinder with a wire wheel mounted on it? It vibrates my work table terribly, to the point that things fall off. It's mounted on a prefab metal work table, with a 2 inch butcher block top, with rubber inner tube as a dampener. What can I do to tame the vibrations.

Shaft run true? Both sides? Wheel dressed and not running out of round? I've ran into a couple of those Central Mach grinders that had less than stellar fit with the shaft amd wheels. Doesn't take much for them to run out of balance.

Mark your wheels and dial them in a quarter turn, or so, at a time. Start with no wheels to check the grinder's balance. That's what I do, like with the one pictured.

Make two round disks with offset holes. Put one on the inside of the brush and one on the outside. Play with orientation until you get a balance. Or buy a higher quality brush.

Had similar issue with a Hf long shaft grinder. Ran smooth without wheels, horridly unbalanced with wire and buffing wheels. I changed bearings and put on quality wheels [Walter} runs smooth as silk now.
