Just checked Grainger and they have about 50 wheels that would work on your grinder. You just need to decide on the WIDTH and the GRIT of the wheel. Don't worry about the 1/2" arbor as almost all the wheels come with adapter bushings to accomodate all the arbor sizes.

Have you tried Home Depot? They carry that size in several grits.

I'd stay away from big box stores for this. Get nothing but name brand. In the US that would be Norton or Cincinnatti Milicron. Don't know about imports. Grinding wheels are a huge safety concern, not a place to save a buck. Grainger, MSC, or McMaster would be good places to look. Also make sure you ring the wheels before mounting.

This is excellent advice in a forum reaching many skill and knowledge levels. If you don't know what this is, you should. Incredibly simple and can help avoid a possible tragedy.

Good advice on ringing a wheel. But many may not know how or why. Here's some guidence.
It should be done on any wheel, old or new, before mounting.
Here's a quick link:

thank you all for the replies.
i think i might have narrowed it down too much on grainger and thats why i couldnt find anything.
also, thank you for telling me about ring testing them, i had no idea about this.
this will just be for general grinding. i have a wheels that already pretty aggressive so maybe i can find one which is more for finishing, not as much material removal.
just is just for a hobbiest in his garage.

A metal bushing instead of the plastic one that comes with the wheel will help the wheel run true. Grainger sells them in many sizes.

The mounting flanges have more effect than the bushings. The bushing might marginally help the concentricity, but the flanges make it run true. Cheaper grinders (including the popular "Block" grinders) have a small shoulder or a simple circlip that try to make the flanges run true. Better grinders employ flanges with integral machined bushings that force the wheel to run true.

My Wissota grinder (set up for buffing) has well-engineered flanges that require no shimming to achieve true running.
