Got my hands on MAC's new mini impact guns. I can now pull crank bolts off because it will fit that tight space after you pull the radiator. My only problem is that their 3/8" and 1/2" impact guns are identical in size and color. I already wrote an email to MAC suggesting they introduce it in another color line. If everyone here does the same thing we can get them on board to make all our lives a little easier. My 0.02

Because its so hard to look at the drive on end? Dont you line them up in your draw as 3/8,1/2 and 3/4? I do with the big daddy range, but then again i also look at the drive on the end, but perhaps thats just me

Engineers: Make them different colors so they're easily recognizable.

Production: One color plastic is cheaper, we save 0.0003 cents per unit.

Marketing: The color represents our "Brand" ...and it looks nice with all of them the same color.

Management: Huh??... Looks nice, cheaper & brand recognition... one color!

Use vinyl marking tape if possible, eg on the handle, but yes it seems frustrating. I think the the suits can keep a common trade dress and still allow useful contrast/identifying markers between tools. Its not that hard.

They don't sell different colored protective boots?

No. However, you could buy the red mac boot for one and The Grey Proto boot for the other one. Although it protects the impact, the boot reduces the impact's compactness slightly.

I don't really see mixing the two different impacts up as being a problem but, It's not unique to MAC. Chicago Pneumatic's stubby impact wrenches are also red in both drive sizes and the new stubby Impacts from IR are the same grey & silver.:dunno:

MAC has red and clear for some air tools but no boot for the mini impacts yet. In the mean time Cornwell has a blue one that would probably fit since they're nearly identical.
