Craftsman calls it Griplatch, Montezuma calls it Raise and release and I don't know what Cornwell calls theirs. Do any other manufacturers use this drawer latch system? I have it on a small Montezuma box I use a a cart and have come to really like it. When I upgrade my stationary box I would like to have this feature but I'd rather not pay Cornwell prices although they are the closest in design to my desired drawer layout.

Griplatch is by far my favorite drawer latch system, but I don't know anyone else who uses it on a box.

The original old-school Griplatch was far and away the best. It had a good feel and was perfectly weighted. I've got a version from ~'03 that is just awesome.

A few years later I was playing with floor models in-store and they felt light, vague and cheap.

My new Homak has a good feel but it's more intrusive into the interior space of the drawer than the original Waterloo/Griplatch

My Snap On eqiq has this style latch. Absolutely love it. The sound and sensation is like the same sensation as racking a shot gun. ASMR for me. lol

The Cornwell system is different. It doesn't actually raise and lower. The drawer handle stays stationary while a bar behind the handle is what actuates the latching and unlatching. Far superior to the Craftsman Griplatch system in terms of convenience in my opinion.
