I have a Grizzly g 7948 drill press. There is a nylon nut that holds the pulley on. Does any one know what that should be torqued at? I read one article and fellow said Grizzly didn't know. I can't believe that you cant get any info from Grizzly. They say the G7948 has been discontinued and no parts available. I can't believe the would not make that part available. Don't know why they ever uses a nylon nut to even start with.

I have that exact model...I love it...it's a beast. That is one huge nut, everything around it is steel. Just put the hurt to it so it won't fly off. Take care...CB

2-1/16" by 7/8" with a 1-1/4 bore. Dark black material...can not see threads. I did a quick measurement, I'm sure it's metric.

Grizzly doesn't make anything, they don't design anything either.

Its all purchased to general specs and guidance to what features they want and is manufactured by several Taiwanese and Chinese factories. They get parts with the shipments to stock for so long and once they are gone, they are gone.
