Grizzly rotating head Drill Press ??? WTH ??

Ran across this unusual Grizzly drill press with rotating head ???

It's only bench top and 1/2 HP and 5 speed.

What good would this be for with limited speeds, but rotating head ??

If it goes slow enough for steel I could see it being useful for drilling holes at angles.

Could be useful for making angled holes in wood with a Forstner bit. Forstner bits are very happy to make an angled hole as opposed to other drill bits. Those types of holes are needed in furniture making - think of a chair for instance. Many angled holes are needed; from the legs into the seat, cross braces into the legs, backs, etc.

It's a small drill press but for the right woodworking projects it could be very handy.

I have been thinking of getting one of those for the wood working side of the shop.

See it has hand crank on the table so it would be handy for odd wood bores.

The $200 price seems steep for used . . . . what would a reasonable price be ??

Right now it is on sale on the Grizzly site for $265+$79 shipping so I would think $125 would be a good price.

That same unit has been available from Cman, grizzly, and other places that source China tools.
It is well known to not be a rigid machine and is intended for woodworkers.
Can be very handy for drilling odd angles

It's a type of radial drill press, yes most often limited to wood working or sheet metal due to lack of rigidity.

I have a similar Delta radial drill press. Useful for woodworking and very small holes in metal (I use it exclusively with sanding drums). Very noisy, and sloppy. Paid $25 for it a garage sale, and think it was a fair deal.

Same here except it's a Rockwell. Another thing it's good for is you can pull it way out to get clearance from the columb, I also use it in my wood shop.
