Has anyone tried mounting the Grizzly router table extension on an older Unisaw? The manual suggests removing a wing but I'd prefer to bolt it on to the wing. Anyone have any success doing this?

Depends on a couple of things. Which way you wanna go (L or R) and if you have enough fence rail to support it and if the fence can reach it if you intend to use the TS fence for route purposes. The biggest issue is structural support for the cast iron table being added on as an extension. It's very heavy and most likely should have legs holding it up. Going right will be less of an issue, going left can be much harder depending on your set up. Its a Unisaw so you most likely have more rail on left side because US's are right tilt, also may have to drill matching holes on the outside of your cast iron wing to add the router table to it.

It can be done, just need to make sure you have the proper structural support to eliminate any sag and keeping the table surface in equal coplanar across the length and back to forth. It's going to want sag.

I'll be putting a Biesemeyer fence on the saw that's currently on my Contractor saw so support won't be a problem. The wing doesn't have holes on the outside end but they can be drilled and tapped. Other than the rounded edges on the wing butting up to the square edges of the router table i can't see any problems. I just wanted to run it by the group to see if I am missing something.

Can't help you but there are other cast iron router table wings that claim to be universal

Will you also be installing a router lift?

I will eventually install a lift.
I considered Peachtree but found a bunch of negative reviews. I'll take a look at MLCS and Bench Dog.
Thanks.

Most people I see make their own extension to include the router.
Most people also seem to remove the cast iron extension and make a router table extension the size they want
