I don't know much about Nicholson, but assumed they were good. I found some in original packaging in an old tool box in our shop.

Thanks, guys! I need a few new file sizes, but with all the Nicholson import talk, I wanted to give another brand a try.

*kicks self for not taking part of the 6-file set for $15 deal I started a thread about in september." Now the same set is $25.

now i didn't say that.......:spit:

i have a set of assenmacher's

Isn't that pronounced A$$holemaker? :bounce:

Anything with Gerhard Assenmacher's name on it must be high quality. I live about 30 miles from Assenmacher. I bought tons of tools from him back when I worked on VWs & Porsches. I have had only one of his tools fail. It was a VW Type 2 ball joint press tool that broke the first time that I used it. Gerhard demanded that I return it to him in person. He checked it on his rockwell tester, and proclaimed that it was too hard. He then grabbed a replacement off the shelf, tested the hardness, and told me that I had better not break this one.

First thing that I thought of, too... :D
I guess files could be used for that purpose...

Now doesn't that sound like a very German reaction???
