Grommet edging for hole in metal ceiling?

Looking to put a pex tube through the sheet metal ceiling and thinking I need to cover the sheet metal edge with something to protect the pipe. Thinking grommet edging or something similar but most I have seen is for thicker material. I suppose I could put something above the ceiling to make it thicker to fit the edging. Where can I get a small amount of the stuff? Other ideas?

Get a few inches of fuel hose. Slit it lengthwise. Feed it onto the metal edge. Hose rated for fuel injection pressures is the stronger thicker style.

Use a small piece of liquid tite or flexible metal conduit it fits in.

How big of a hole are we talking? Rubber grommets large enough to go around 1/2" or 3/4" PEX aren't hard to find.

There are insulator bushing for framing with steel studs. They should be available from where ever steel studs are sold.

I was going to suggest same with polyurethane airline tubing. Probably around 1/4" OD or 6mm would do it. Many bright colors :D but white, grey, black are easy to find too.

Would like to get something white or clear. Standard rubber grommets or stud bushings would definitely be function but are usually black (or bright yellow!). I have some scraps of nylon or some other fairly hard plastic grommet edging somewhere but can't find it (getting organized is the first order of business when the shop is usable and I move stuff in). For those not familiar with it this is black but also is available in white:

Car edging (clear) looks good and is readily available.
Or split tubing.
Some is pretty soft though. Would prefer something a bit harder to resist cut through since the sheet metal is so thin.

Tubing is 3/4"

In plumbing, we use something called a "suspension clamp".

The blue one on the right would be for your application, 1 3/8" hole I think.

Thanks for the suggestions but I have decided to run the pex on the wall near the ceiling but under it and avoid going through the ceiling. A lot less trouble, I can run 3/4" without any issues (only could get 1/2" in the valley of the metal ceiling so was considering running two runs for less pressure drop), and with white clips it will blend in. And at 14' up it will be out of the way.
