I can't remember how it's worded but in the ordinances we have it basically says the inspector is always right so even if he's wrong, there's no point in arguing. I've never had a problem with them and have only had one failed inspection that was my fault. Once again, I wasn't paying enough attention at the update class and I was dinged for not having WR receptacles outside, something I didn't know even existed at the time.

I always knew about the AHJ section however since I was an electrical contractor before becoming an inspector I always quoted the code (on violations) and never pulled the "in my town" BS……… I was "abused" by a few of these "code Nazi inspectors" when I started out in business and swore I would never to do this BS.
BTW! The WR rating on outdoor receptacles is in the code so it is a legit violation. Whenever I saw regular receptacles installed outdoors I would tell the contractor to change them to WR's and never go back unless I found other violations.…… I trust they did it.
