When we installed the electrical panel in a shop that I am building the electrician instructed me to place a piece of rebar into the footing and ground the box to it. Where do I tie into the box with this and what size wire? The box has a 200 amp breaker but is supplied by a 100 amp breaker where it leaves the house service

This is called a UFER ground. The GEC(grounding electrode conductor) needs to go to the ground bar in your panel.

Did u run a 3-wire or 4-wire feeder?

NEC 250.66 calls for cu wire no larger than #4....

Ground wire can be had at any local hardware store. I think when I did mine, the rod was $8 and the wire was $1 a foot for braided.

a grounding rod is different than a concrete encased electrode(UFER)....the OP is using a UFER...

Wylie that is 3 wire plus the ground. So this next ground wire goes from the same bar as the incoming ground is attached to?
