Grounding in conduit

Regarding adding outlets using metal conduit. If your pulling a separate ground wire, (not depending on the conduit for ground) do you still pigtail to the metal box, just like your were running Romex?

If your are doing an Isolated Ground installation (orange receptacle), the answer is NO !

The ground wire must be insulated and not allowed to touch any metal all the way back to the panel.

Just plain old 115 outlets. I'm told here that we can use the conduit as the ground but if a joint becomes unstable the ground is lost, so it's best to run a seperate wire.

Yeah, you can wrap the pigtail to the box screw then up to the receptacle ground. I did in my install.

Anywhere you have a device(recep, switch, etc) or a splice in the wires, you need to ground the box. If you pull straight through a box with no splices, you don't need to ground it.

That's what I thought but I couldn't find it anywhere in plain English. Thank you.

I spose using splice in the wire is as good as any but,,, (wouldnt mind seeing where that is written) when the device is mounted in a cover it needs to be grounded to the box via a jumper, if the device is mounted to the box its not needed.
