Grounding Wire?

I'm installing a meter base on and a breaker box in a shop at my house.My question is if i run my ground wire from my grounding rod to the small lug designated in the meter base for it what am i going to run my ground bar in the breaker box to if I don't have any copper plumbing in my shop?Thanks in advance.

So skipping the meter box is ok?I was thinking of running two grounding rods one for meter base and the one for breaker box.

DO NOT land a GEC (grounding electrode conductor) in the meter base unless your POCO specifically requires it.
Run from the main panel to a ground rod then on to a second >6' away.
