Group membership notifications

I recently joined a group forum. I'm wondering if there is a way to see if anyone posts there on the Garage Journal Board. Something like the PM notifications we get? A member mentioned he "forgets to look there" and i can see myself doing the same.

Easiest way I find is to check as soon as you log on. It should be in thicker print if there is a new post. I can understand why it is easy to forget to check as some of the social groups have not been active for a very long time (years in some cases).
