Grout or caulk tile profiles?

I’m grouting my shower and I had a question about grouting/ caulking schluter profiles. Im using the dilex-ahk inside 135 degree corners.

In which of these three joints should I grout OR caulk.

if this is your house I would try grout and really work it in. Corner joints like that are tough to keep from cracking but I hate caulk in showers so much that I’d try it. Caulk will work but it discolors different then the grout so it’s an eyesore imo

grout, and use translucent silicone caulk in all corners

either mix some grout in with your caulking or buy caulking that matches your grout
whenever i do a job that requires caulking i buy the matching caulk

I have the matching caulking.... but I prefer the look of grout. I don’t want it cracking on me.

It’s my Home but it will soon become a rental. Don’t want the tenants complaining about cracked grout and me spending time to remove and repair.

caulk it...you wont see it once your out and you wont be re grouting for the renters who really dont care about the look of caulked joints.

Talked to the folks at schluter and got this feedback:

“Yes those profiles eliminate the need for caulk. As long as the area behind the coved part remains open, there is room for expansion to happen. There is an integrated grout spacer in the profile and it’s ok to grout “.

I grouted it. Real pain in the ***. Got a lot of cleaning left.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd ask anyway, as I have a similar issue and can't find a solution: were you able to find 135 degree cove profiles, or are you using 90 degree cove profiles in the 135 degree inside corners? If the latter, how well did it work?

Those are 135* profiles FWIR. They should be available from most profile manufacturers.

In schluters line it will be the DILEX profile. Most real tile stores that carry the schluter line will have them. Lowes or HD usually don't have the 135deg corners but can order them.
