I asked on free parking but got no answers maybe someone here can tell me. Ran across a guardian 16 speed floor standing drill press. It was made in 1988 and is in really good shape. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. It's 3/4 H.P. with a 5/8 chuck and all adjustments work. I did see it was made in Taiwan. The model is FDM-16SP. I can't seem to find anything on google. But I did find some pictures on google. I bought it for $100.00, We have a drill press at work that looks almost identical but it is marked Chicago industrial. Any body hear of this thing ? Is it an old harbor freight ?

Looks like a typical generic DP from China or Taiwan, similar to what HF sells, many of the parts are interchangeable. A couple factories churn these out, the only big difference is the name on the plate. I've seen all sorts of names.
