I have one in each vehicle. The locks are cam style but have a hook so if you pry on it, the hook will catch. The idea is to mount it so doing said stuff is hard.

In my car, I installed a chain and I keep $, keys, gun, etc. in it. Hidden under seat. The cable cuts way too easily.

In my truck, I used about 6 decent sized self tappers and mounted it to the frame work on the inside of the center counsel. It will take a lot of destruction to get it out.
