I'm really struggling with the selection between GarageDeck and RaceDeck. I only have a 400 square foot garage, but it's a $400 difference between the GJ price on RaceDeck and the BigFloors.com price on GarageDeck. I can do the same pattern in either, so that's not a factor. It's really just price vs. quality. I don't know whether it's worth the extra $400 bucks. Does the RaceDeck version fit together better?

I thought it would be about $280 difference. My understanding is the Racedeck does fit tighter together. I ordered 4 pieces of the Racedeck Diamond and 4 pieces of Garagetrac to see what the difference is and make my own judgement and decision. Based on what I have read here, I am leaning toward the Racedeck product.

It's 2.99 a foot for the racedeck (which is the GJ under 500 square foot cost).

I would suggest requesting a couple of samples of each and compare for yourself the quality of manufacturing, fit and finish.

I have seen any GarageDeck samples to compare, but I am impressed with the RaceDeck product. The president of RD is a GJ member and has helped many other GJ members out with their floors. The customer service that Jorgan, Kia and the others at RD have provided here on GJ is what made me go with RD. It was worth it for me to know i could get support after a sale than saving a couple bucks.

Good Luck on your project, Gottspd. This is a topic that many have opinions on. Get the samples and make your own decision.

I was quoted $2.69 per foot for the Racedeck, which is what I was using to compare the price. I also have a garage about your size, closer to 450 sq feet. May want to ask, I have seen it quoted in other posts also at $2.69

Hmm... they told me it was $2.99 for under 500 square feet and $2.69 if I purchase over500 square feet. That's a bit frustrating.

I am building a 750 sq foot new garage and am going with RaceDeck for two reasons. I was very impressed with the quality of the RaceDeck samples I have received. They are quite tight fitting and appear very strong. Other flooring samples I have seen in person and online had noticably bigger gaps between the tiles and that bothers me esthetically. Secondly I am equally impressed with the RaceDeck customer service. Not only can you get an answer here in a short time but a simple phone call and you can speak to a knowledgable person. The owner is also a VCA member and Viper owner like me so that seals the deal..:)

It doesn't hurt to ask if they can match the price. If that is all that you need to make the decision to go with RD, you may be surprised if you ask.

Okay,

I just ordered the RaceDeck!

They asked me not to post my price, but it was better than I thought it would be. Gotta say, it's still a crazy amount of money for a garage floor, but hey, it's going to super cool!

So, the garage is really coming along. Cabinets are installed, the fan is up, the new lights are up, I got the TV (just waiting for the mount to be delivered). After this, it just needs a fresh coat of paint!

Post up some pics when you get the floor down!
I thought that too, but to have a good quality epoxy floor done correctly by a professional ain't cheap either. And after reading some of the DIY nightmare epoxy posts convinced me to use the RD.
