So i just ordered the 56" Value Series roller cabinet and the 7 drawer side cabinet this afternoon. Since I have a small shop and floor space is a big premium I'm going to mount my new tool box into the new welding bench I'm going to be building. I need a bunch of measurements from you guys so i can draw up how I'm going to build this thing. I don't trust the measurements that the retailers post of the box so that's why I'm asking you guys.

1. Total width with out handle
2. Total height with out casters
3. Total depth
4. Distance between top of rolled edge to top of lock cylinder.
5. Bottom of box to bottom of drawer opening

Thanks guys i appreciate it.

Used to own it. Bought used for $550 sold for $500 a year later.

It was Ok, held tools great, big, lots of real estate. The sliders especially the top drawer were adequate and held quite a bit.

It was just too big for my garage, I wanted a more vertical unit.

Can't help with measurements....sorry...

I really like the drawer arrangement of that box. I nearly bought one a few years ago, bid one up on ebay but chickened out going further because it would have been an all day trip to go pick it up and bring it home (with me having a truck of questionable long-distance reliability).

Well here's some pics of it.

Sorry for the thread revival,

But I'm currently contemplating buying this exact box from homedepot.

How has it held up so far? How's the build quality? How do the drawers slide open and closed? How's the drawer retention system?

Thanks !

No apology necessary. I think these threads should go on for years if there is an interest. I never understood why some people get so cranky about reviving old threads. Maybe there is some reason I've yet to hear...

Anyway, I still love mine. I'm a very light user though. I do have one drawer that sticks going in sometimes. I haven't even tried to figure it yet. I am going to have to pull out all the drawers sometime soon to move from the shed into my new garage so, I'll look more closely on the receiving end.

Those brushed aluminum angle pieces on the corners are just glued on and one of mine came off. I don't know how unless one of my brothers did it and didn't tell me, it simply fell off.

One the other hand, I love going to get things out of it! It is a lot of box for the money! I seem to recall the construction being shipped overseas... Not sure about it though, mine was built in "Oh Canada..."

The drawers do not slide all the way out but, that doesn't bother me. I think if I was going in and out of the box all day, every day, I might feel differently about that... Can't really say...

The casters are not really all that impressive though. If I was going to be rolling this thing around a lot, I'd probably beef up the attachment points. They are basically sheet metal screwed in with no backing plates to speak of.

again, I have no buyer's remorse just trying to be as informative as i can.

Wow! That Home Depot price is about $150 less than what I paid for mine around 5 years ago. I had free shipping and no sales taxes. I don't know if you will have to pay shipping and taxes or not.
My box is still doing great in the leisurely world of home ownership.

Funny, I'm looking at the same box today. Little bit worried about the durability and whether the drawers are heavy duty enough

I've had mine for almost a year and it's held up great! The only grips I have is the drawer close so hard that the mats and tools move around, and the center wheels on mine try to bow out when you move it around fully loaded

Subbed. I've been looking at this with the 56" top chest and a side locker.
